CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Freshman forward Conor
Morrison of the Harvard men’s hockey team has been named ECAC
Hockey Rookie of the Week following a historic performance Tuesday
against Boston University, the league office announced Monday.
Morrison scored four goals against the Terriers, becoming the
first Harvard player to net four goals in a game since Chris Bala
’01 accomplished the feat—also as a
freshman—March 6, 1998 in a 7-6 win against Vermont. Morrison
entered Tuesday’s game with one career goal and left it with
a share of the team goal-scoring lead along with sophomore Alex
Killorn.
The London, Ont., native is tied for second nationally among
freshmen with 0.56 goals per game. He has played in all nine of the
Crimson’s games this season and also has one assist to stand
tied for fifth on the team with six points. Morrison owns a +2
plus/minus rating.
It is the second ECAC weekly honor of the season for the Crimson.
Killorn was honored as ECAC Hockey Player of the Week Nov. 2.
Winners are determined by a vote among the 12 league coaches.
