Harvard Men's Golf Welcomes Four to Class of 2015
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Director of Golf Fred Schernecker and head men's coach Jim Burke have added four players to the men's golf program for 2011-12.
Akash Mirchandani (Prospect, Ky./ Dupont Manual Magnet) was a six-time letterwinner in golf and was a senior captain. As a senior, Mirchandani won the Kentucky High School State Championship by a five-stroke margin including a closing round 66. Mirchandani finished in the top-10 of every high school tournament he entered as a senior and earned a place on the Kentucky All-State team. Mirchandani has for top-25 AJGA finishes under his belt and was a 2011 Junior PGA qualifier. In 2010, he was named as one of 12 HP Scholastic Junior All-Americans.
Frederic Fisher (Boca Raton, Fla./ Saint Andrew's) earned seven letters and was a senior captain. Tournament highlights for Fisher include a ninth place finish at the Pompano Junior Classic with 74-72 and a second place at the South Florida PGA at Breakers West (71-71). Fisher also shot a 73 to take third place at the Florida High School Regional Championship.
