Four Crimson Earn NABC Honors Court Recognition

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Four members of the 2013-14 Harvard men's basketball team have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court, recognizing their excellence in the classroom throughout the year. Recent graduate Tom Hamel '14 received the distinction for the second time in as many years, while classmate Laurent Rivard '14 and rising seniors Charlie Anastasi and Alex Nesbitt earned the honor for the first time.

The quartet helped Harvard to a fourth straight Ivy League championship and a third consecutive trip to the NCAA tournament. The 2013-14 team went 27-5 overall and 13-1 against the Ancient Eight, setting new program records for overall wins and conference victories. Harvard advanced to the third round of the 'Big Dance' for a second consecutive season with a 61-57 win over fifth-seeded Cincinnati, and also won the 2013 Great Alaska Shootout title.

To be eligible for the award a student-athlete must have been either a junior or senior academically and had maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
