Rivard Named to Team Canada Men’s National Team Training Camp Roster

Laurent Rivard averaged 10.1 points per game as a sophomore (Gil Talbot).

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Rising junior guard Laurent Rivard of the Harvard men's basketball team is one of 27 players from the NCAA, European pro leagues, the NCAA and the Canada Interuniversity Sport (CIS) to have been invited to Team Canada's Men's National Team Training Camp. The camp will be held in Toronto, Ont., Aug. 24-28.

A native of Saint-Bruno, Que., Rivard ranks seventh in program history with 127 career 3-pointers, having drained 66 as a sophomore in 2011-12. Last season, Rivard played in all 31 games, starting 16 contests, while ranking third on the Crimson with 10.1 point sper game. He made at least one trey in 26 of 31 games and reached double figures in scoring in 12 contests. 
Rivard, who went 6-of-7 from beyond the arc, including 5-of-6 in the second half, scored 20 points against Vanderbilt in the second round of NCAA tournament. Rivard helped the Crimson to a 26-5 overall record, as well as the team's second straight Ivy League title, as Harvard went 12-2 in league play last season.
