Moundou-Missi Earns Ivy Rookie of the Week Honors

Steve Moundou-Missi is averaging 6.3 points per game in Ivy League contests (Gil Talbot).

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After helping the No. 23 Harvard men’s basketball team to two road victories at Yale and Brown, Steve Moundou-Missi has been tabbed the Ivy League Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

Moundou-Missi, who hails from Yaounde, Cameroon, becomes the third Crimson player to be named Ivy Rookie of the Week this season, joining Corbin Miller (Jan. 23) and Jonah Travis (Dec. 5).
In Harvard’s 65-35 victory at Yale, Moundou-Missi tallied 10 points, as he made five field goals, while grabbing five rebounds and making three steals. The 30-point victory marked the widest margin of victory in the series history against the Bulldogs. Moundou-Missi followed that performance by collecting a career-high 10 rebounds, scoring six points and blocking two shots in the 68-59 win at Brown Saturday.

Moundou-Missi and the Crimson will return home to host Cornell and Columbia Feb. 3-4. Both games are slated for 7 p.m. starts at Lavietes Pavilion. Harvard, which has won six straight games, is off to a 4-0 start in conference play and stands at 18-2 overall.
