Kyle Casey Earns More Preseason Honors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sophomore forward Kyle Casey of
the Harvard men’s basketball team has been named to the
Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook preseason All-Ivy
League team, the publication announced Monday. In addition,
Blue Ribbon picked Harvard to finish second in the Ivy
League.
Casey, who hails from Medway, Mass., has been lauded by several
other preseason publications this year, including, including
Athlon Sports, Lindy’s and The Sporting
News. In his rookie season with the Crimson, Casey was
tabbed Ivy League Rookie of the Year after averaging 10.4 points
per contest. He led Harvard with 5.1 rebounds per game, while
shooting 91-of-174 from the field (.523) and 16-of-42 from
three-point range (.381). Casey, who dished out 31 assists,
also played solid defense, blocking 27 shots and making 10 steals
as a freshman.
Harvard begins its season by facing George Mason on the road Saturday, Nov. 13, before opening its home slate against Holy Cross Wednesday, Nov. 17.
