Men's Basketball's Lin and Curry Sweep Ivy League Honors
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Harvard players factored heavily in the Ivy League Weekly Report as senior Jeremy Lin was named the Player of the Week and freshman guard Brandyn Curry was named the Rookie of the Week in an announcement by the league office late Monday afternoon.
It marks the second time this season that Harvard has swept the weekly award. Lin has been the Ivy's top player four times and Harvard has now had three different players earn top rookie honors with Dee Giger and Kyle Casey (four times) earning the nods.

Harvard won both of its games, against Brown and Yale, by 20 points as the Crimson set a program record for victories in a season with 20 (20-6).
Curry led Harvard to its record-setting weekend. The point guard averaged 17.5 points, 5.0 assists, 3.5 steals and 2.5 rebounds while playing just 26.5 minutes per game. He was nearly automatic from the floor with a 71 percent mark overall (12-17 FG) and a 73 percent mark from 3-point range (8-11) while making all three free throws. Against Brown, Curry poured home a career-high 21 points (8-10 FG, 4-5 3PT) to go with five assists, five steals and four rebounds in 26 minutes. Against Yale, Curry scored all 14 of his points in the first half on 4-of-5 shooting from deep as the Crimson built a big lead. He finished with five more assists and two steals.
Lin had another stat-stuffing weekend as he averaged 17.0 points, 6.0 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals despite playing just 28 minutes per game. He shot better than 61 percent from the floor (11-18 FG), 67 percent from long range and made 10-of-12 free throws (83.3%). In his final regular season home game, Lin had a game-high 26 points on 9-of-13 shooting with five rebounds, five assists and five steals in only 30 minutes. He had eight points, seven assists, six rebounds and two steals in the Brown win.

With its win Saturday against Yale, Harvard set a program record
with 20 victories, surpassing the old mark of 19 set back in
1945-46 ... Harvard has also assured the program's first winning
Ivy League season since 1996-97 ... Harvard recorded its first
season-sweeps of both Yale and Brown since winning all four games
against the pair in 1998-99 ... Now with season sweeps of Brown,
Columbia, Dartmouth and Yale, Harvard has recorded the most Ivy
sweeps since getting four in 1996-97 (Columbia, Cornell, Yale,
Brown) ... The Crimson will look to set a program record for road
victories this weekend at Penn and Princeton ... Against Brown,
Harvard recorded its 12th outing of the year in which it
shot better than 50 percent for the game. Harvard is undefeated in
those games ... Harvard is 18-0 when leading at halftime ...
Harvard has nine eight wins this season by 20 or more points to tie
a program record, set in 1945-46 ... Harvard's average margin of
victory at home this season is 16.6 points ... Harvard has sold out
four of its last six home games ... Harvard played 10 players at
least 10 minutes in both wins this weekend ... Harvard outshot
Brown and Yale .533-.429 and the Crimson shot 52.6 percent from
long range (20-38) ... Harvard dished out 44 assists to 22
turnovers while collecting 22 steals ... Harvard's bench players
have produced five 40-point games and 11 30-point games this season
... Harvard's freshman class scored 43 points in Friday's win
against Brown while underclassmen scored a combined 73 points in
the game ... Harvard is one of three schools nationally (Navy, Cal)
to rank in the top 70 nationally in FT % in each of the last five
years.
