CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Harvard junior Chloe Keating and freshman Emma Keller have swept the Ivy League's weekly field hockey awards, the league office announced Tuesday. Keating is the Ivy Player of the Week, while Keller has been named Rookie of the Week.
Keating totaled three goals, including one game-winner, and three assists to lead the Crimson to two wins. She had a hand in each of Harvard's goals in a 4-1 win Wednesday against UC Davis, scoring twice in the first half and setting up two goals in the second.
In Saturday's 4-2 victory against Bryant, Keating scored to extend the Crimson's second-half lead to two goals and set up another in the final minutes after the Bulldogs had again trimmed the advantage to one. She has had three straight multi-point games to total five goals and four assists so far, matching her career total entering the season.
Keller scored three goals in two games during the week. She netted two second-half goals against UC Davis. Keller then added another score in the closing minutes of Saturday's home opener, securing the win after the Bulldogs had cut the lead to a single goal. She has scored four goals in three collegiate games to rank second on the Crimson in goals and points (eight).
The Crimson, off to a 3-0 start, is scheduled to begin Ivy League play Saturday at Yale.
