Harvard is the most diverse school in the country in terms of ethnicity, socioeconomics and geography. Our students are from big cities, small country towns and everywhere in between. The common denominator is they are high character kids who respect everyone at Harvard.
Just recently Harvard was the only non-historically black school to be ranked in the top five in the nation for African American students by Black Enterprise Magazine. Out of 482 colelges and University ranked, Harvard is the only Ivy League or northeast region school listed in the top five; checking in at fourth, behind Florida A&M, Howard Unievrsity and North Carolina A&T and in front of Hampton University. Culled from the release is the following paragraph:
Walter Massey, Morehouse president, said several factors make the schools listed in the top 50 stand out. "One, they are schools that make the students feel comfortable. They create an environment where they feel they can be themselves," Massey explained. "Secondly, they are schools that, again, have established over the years that their graudates are competitive in whatever field they go into."
