CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Harvard running Paul Stanton Jr., and Salve Regina quarterback Steven Wilken have been honored as the final recipients of the Ray Gallant Insurance New England Football Writers' Gridiron Club of Great Boston Golden Helmet Award of the 2013 season.

In the 130th playing of The Game, Stanton matched the Harvard record set by Eddie Mahan in 1915 of four touchdowns scored against the Crimson's archival Yale Saturday afternoon at the Yale Bowl. He lifted Harvard to its seventh straight victory in the renowned all-time series that dates back to 1875 by running into the end zone on rushes of 25 and two yards and also scoring on 21 and 18-yard passes from two-time Gold Helmet recipient, quarterback Conner Hempel. He finished the game with 27 attempts for 118 yards on the ground, his fourth 100-yard game of the season, and four catches for 40 yards. Stanton was named Ivy League Co-Offensive Player of the Week after his four touchdown performance at Yale.

The Kenner, La., native not only helped the Crimson tally its 250th Ivy League win, but combined with Dartmouth's win over Princeton, he aided the Crimson to a share of its 15th Ivy League title and seventh under Tim Murphy, the Thomas Stephenson Family Head Coach of Harvard football.

Stanton was named to the All-Ivy second team after finishing his sophomore season second in the Ivy with 17 scores and was fourth with 1,098 all-purpose yards. His 936 yards on the ground are good for third in the Ancient Eight and his 15 rushing touchdowns rank third most for a single-season in Harvard history.

Wilken's name was also penciled into record books Saturday afternoon despite Salve Regina's  48-35 setback in the ECAC Northeast Bowl against Western Connecticut State at Guadet Field. The signal caller threw a program best five touchdown passes and became the single-season (23) and career (40) leader in TDs at Salve Regina. The junior who hails from Ringwood, N.J., threw for scores of 10, 20, 58, 5 and 4 yards.
