Brate, Hodges Garner Beyond Sports Network Preseason All-America Honors

Cameron Brate was tabbed to the BSM Preseason All-America first team (Gil Talbot).

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Rising junior tight end Cameron Brate and rising junior defensive end Zach Hodges have been named to the Beyond Sports Network Preseason All-America teams.

Brate earned a spot on the first team, while Hodges received a nod to the third team.

A native of Naperville, Ill., Brate made 41 receptions for 592 yards last fall. He caught six passes for touchdowns and was a Beyond Sports Network All-America second team choice and a Capital One Academic All-America first team pick. Brate is a two-time All-Ivy League choice, having been named unanimously to the All-Ancient Eight first team last season.

Hodges, who hails from Atlanta, Ga., led the Crimson with nine sacks and 16 tackles for a loss during the 2012 campaign. A first team All-Ivy pick, Hodges was tabbed the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year by CollegeSportsMadness, as he made 32 tackles overall, including 23 solo stops.
