CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Harvard completed its 2012 spring football season on Saturday night with its annual spring game as the Crimson offense posted a 6-0 victory over the defense.
The lone score of the game came early in the second quarter as Michael Pruneau found Casey Johnson on a deep route over the middle with Johnson cutting across field to elude two would-be tacklers for a 47-yard scoring strike.
Aside from that play the offense moved the ball but was forced into five punts on the night while Nate Wall intercepted Conner Hempel in the end zone. Jacob Dombrowski ripped off a 69-yard punt in the third quarter and pinned three inside the 20 yard line.
The passing game led the way with four QBs combining for 23-of-50 through the air for 257 yards but the defense came up with six sacks in the game.
Pruneau was 9-of-19 for 118 yards while Hempel was 6-of-13 for 89 yards.
Ricky Zorn had a game-high five receptions for 50 yards while Matt Brown hauled in two sparking catches for 43 yards. Andrew Berg and Seitu Smith III each had three catches. All told, 12 difference players caught a pass. Zorn also had a fumble recovery on special teams.
Brian Owusu led the secondary with three pass breakups and four tackles (three solo) while Malcom-Rodriguez had two breakups.
