|High School:||Friends of Jaclyn|
Alex was drafted by Harvard in the first round of the Friends of Jaclyn annual draft as the number-one overall selection. Alex quickly signed a contract, that included a signing bonus of a birthday party complete with cake, singing, baseball equipment, bowling equipment and a tricycle.
Alex is an integral part of the Harvard baseball family as well as its favorite teammate. Alex works hard at overcoming obsticles to take part in his favorite game and helps his Crimson teammates in realizing their enjoyment as well. The team will luckily have Alex at its home games as well as numerous practices throughout the season.
Alex suffers from Pilocytic Astrocytoma Low Grade Glioma, a form of cerebral tumor. Alex has gone through nine months of intensive treatment at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute following his diagnosis in April 2009. His progress is steady and his approach to the game makes it enoyable for all his teammates - even those who struggle to stay back on offspeed pitches.
A recent highlight of Alex's career with the Crimson was firing a strike during the first pitch against Dartmouth April 28.
