WAREHAM, Mass. – Harvard pitcher Max Perlman has been named to the 2010 Cape Cod League All-Star game, representing the West team. Perlman, in his second season for the Wareham Gatemen, earned his second all-star nod after being an alternate last year. He will pitch at Fenway Park on July 28.
The Wareham Gatemen led the West Division All-Stars with six selections.
Perlman leads the West Division with three wins and is third with 36 strikeouts and a 1.65 earned run average. Through six games he has allowed just 31 hits in 43.2 innings while striking out those 36 batters and walking just six.
In his latest start, he threw a complete game six-hitter with seven strikeouts in a 5-2 win over the Hyannis Harbor Hawks. His season-high for strikeouts is nine in just six innings in a no-decision against the Brewster White Caps.
