Was tearing up opposing pitching before hurting his wrist on a stolen base in the seventh game of the season ... wound up missing 25 games ... Had eight extra base hits in the first seven games before being injured and batted .538 against left-handed pitching ... Was 2-for-4 with a triple in the season opener at then-16th-ranked Wichita State on 3/08 ... Named Ivy League Player of the Week on 3/19 after batting .750 with five extra base hits in four games ... Had seven hits in a split doubleheader on 3/16 against Northern Iowa and Ohio State. He was 4-for-4 with an RBI double against UNI before going 3-for-5 with a home run and a two-run double against the Buckeyes ... Was 2-for-4 with a double at Jacksonville on 3/26 ... Was 2-for-2 with a double and a homer against Rhode Island on 4/26.

Background:
Hails from Scituate, Mass. and attended Xaverian Bros. HS ... Is a transfer from Wake Forest University ... Was a three-year starter in the outfield at Xaverian Bros. HS ... As a senior, led Xaverian to a state title and a 24th ranking nationally by USA Today with a 22-4 overall record ... Batted 14-for-27 with three homers and 17 RBI during the 6-0 playoff run, culminating in his being named as the District 1 MVP, the Metrowest Daily News First Team and the USA Today Player of the Week ..
