PRINCETON, N.J. - The Harvard Crimson (22-13-1, 12-4 Ivy) fell to the Princeton Tigers (20-15, 13-3 Ivy) in the opening game of the weekend series, by a score of 4-0. The Crimson will look forward to tomorrow's doubleheader, with still a chance to win the series and take back the top spot in the league.
First-year Riley Flynn (6-1) started for the Crimson, pitching four innings with no score before the Tigers were able to put one on the board in the fifth.
At the plate, the Crimson were led by sophomore Savannah Fitzpatrick, who went 1-for-2 on the day.
How it Happened
Harvard batters were stopped at second base throughout the game, as the Crimson put up no runs. Both teams were even at zero through four innings but the Tigers were able to score their first in the fifth, building on that momentum through the rest of the game to end with four runs.
Game Notes
• Flynn limited Princeton to just 2-for-11 (.182) with runners in scoring position. She faced 29 Princeton hitters in the game, allowing five ground balls and six fly balls while striking out seven.
• Fitzpatrick led the Crimson at the plate, going 1-for-2.

The Crimson will finish out the series in Princeton tomorrow with a doubleheader starting at 12 p.m. With one victory in the Garden State, Harvard will clinch a spot in the Ivy League tournament. Both games will air on ESPN+ tomorrow.
