CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FOLLOWING STUDENT-ATHLETES FOR OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES IN FALL 2008 S&C TESTING AND TRAINING:
Men's Basketball: Andrew Pusar and Doug Miller shared the Iron Crimson Award as basketball's hardest workers in the 2008 pre-season.
Softball: Emily Henderson, Jessica Pledger, and Stephanie Krysiak all improved their back squat maxes by 20 pounds this summer.
Men's Lacrosse: Jesse Fehr earned the Most Improved Athlete title as the best overall tester of the fall, improving in every category.
Women's Squash: Nirasha Guruge earned the Top Tester award as a freshman, leading the team in 2 out of 3 categories.
Men's Hockey: Doug Rogers, weighing in at 186 pounds, set an all-time record for men's hockey's strength index (622.1) with a power clean of 275, a back squat of 420, and a bench press of 310.
Alpine Skiing: Chris Kinner and Margie Thorp prove that only the strongest shall survive, defending their titles as the pound-for-pound strongest male and female skiers at Harvard.
Women's Hockey: Amy Uber roared back from ACL surgery, finishing in the top 5 in 8 out of 11 categories tested, and easily claimed the title of Most Improved Athlete and Top Tester.
