Dan Scotchmer joins the Harvard Office of Athletic Communications after graduating Summa Cum Laude from Kent State.
In his time at KSU, Scotchmer was one of the radio voices for the nationally-ranked baseball team and the sideline reporter for the football team. He also worked in the Athletic Communications office as a student assistant where he wrote press releases, game stories and feature articles.
In 2011, Scotchmer served as the media relations manager of the Jamestown Jammers of the New York-Pennsylvania League. During his tenure, the Jammers were featured on the MLB Network, Fox Sports Florida and BBC for the first time in team history. Scotchmer also served as the assistant press box coordinator for the 13-15 Babe Ruth World Series held in Jamestown, N.Y.
Prior to entering college, Scotchmer worked at The Post-Journal as a sports writer covering local high school and junior college athletics.
Scotchmer received his B.S. in Sport Administration from Kent State and is a native of Jamestown, N.Y.
