Casey Hart is in his seventh year as assistant director of athletic communications at Harvard University. He serves as the department's publicity and media-relations contact for eight sports: men's ice hockey, men's and women's heavyweight and lightweight crew, field hockey and coed and women's sailing.

For each of his sports, Hart's responsibilities include coverage on GoCrimson.com, creation of game programs and other publications and promotion to local and hometown media. He also serves as content coordinator for GoCrimson.com and is the department's liaison with website provider PrestoSports.

Hart joined the Department of Athletics staff in August 2005 and began working with Harvard's nationally prominent men's hockey team in January 2006. He handles operation of the Bright Hockey Center press box, hosting and assisting media members and directing the statistical crew.

Several of Hart's Harvard teams advance to their respective national championship tournaments each season. He has accompanied teams to the NCAA men's hockey, softball and rowing championships. Hart has also assisted in the NCAA's media-relations efforts at the 2006 NCAA Women's Final Four, the 2009 NCAA Men's Basketball East Regional and four NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championships.

Before coming to Harvard, Hart served internships in sports information at Yale University and Muhlenberg College. He was the communications contact for women's basketball, baseball and volleyball at Yale, where he was the host communications liaison for the first and second rounds of the 2004 NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship. He assisted with coverage with all 22 varsity sports at Division III Muhlenberg.

Hart earned a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Journalism and Mass Communication in May 2003.

A native of Lexington, Ky., Hart resides in Somerville, Mass.
