Michael Black joined the Harvard Office of Athletic Communications in October 2013 and serves as the primary contact for women's hockey, baseball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's swimming & diving, and men's and women's water polo. He has previously worked with the Crimson's field hockey and men's and women's squash programs.
Black arrived at Harvard after spending time at Georgetown as an assistant director of sports information, handling the media relations efforts for the Hoyas' volleyball, baseball and men's and women's rowing programs.
Prior to his time in Washington, D.C., Black enjoyed a year-long stint as the Jack Grinold Athletic Communications intern at Northeastern University, where he served as the Huskies' field hockey, baseball and swimming & diving contact. Before his first tour in Boston, he spent two years at Northwestern University, serving as the media relations contact for the field hockey and men's and women's tennis programs.
A 2010 graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in journalism and minor in history, Black is wrapping up his pursuit of a master of arts degree in sports administration from Northwestern.
Originally hailing from Ormond Beach, Fla., the Birthplace of Speed, Black currently resides in Boston.
