Tom Dingman graduated from Harvard College in 1967, and taught in several secondary schools.  He earned his masters degree at the Harvard Graduate School of Education in 1973 as he completed a stint in the Undergraduate Admissions Office as Assistant Director.  Dingman's long Harvard career has also included:

-Serving as Assistant and Associate Dean of the College (eleven and sixteen years respectively)

-Being Allston Burr Senior Tutor - resident dean - in Leverett House (nine years) and in Dudley House (thirteen years)            

-Directing the Parents Association

-Coordinating disability services

He has served as a freshman proctor and member of the Board of Freshman Advisers and currently, alongside his duties as Dean of Freshmen, is a member of:

            -The Administrative Board
            -The Committee on Student Life
            -The Alcohol and other Drug Campus-Community Collaborative
            -The Board of Religious, Spiritual, and Ethical Life
            -The Faculty Standing Committee on Admissions and Financial Aid
            -The Faculty Standing Committee on Athletics
            -The Athletic Director’s Council

Dingman is the NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative and eligibility officer for intercollegiate sports.
