Kathleen Young of the field hockey team has been selected as the COOP Student-Athlete of the Week for the span of Sept. 18-24.
Young scored two big goals for Harvard in wins against Yale (W, 2-1 OT) and Lafayette (W, 6-2). Against the Bulldogs, Young scored the game-tying goal with 36 seconds left in the win against Yale, helping Harvard to its 10th straight Ivy win. On Sunday against Lafayette, Young helped Harvard pull away with a second half goal to put the Crimson up by three goals. Young has 10 points (four goals, two assists) during a five-game scoring streak. The junior now leads the team with 13 points (five goals, three assists) on the season.
The Crimson is back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 27 as it heads to Worcester to take on Holy Cross and will host Penn on Saturday, Sept. 30.
