CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sophomore goalie Emerance Maschmeyer of the women’s ice hockey team has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 28.
In the opening weekend of the season, Maschmeyer helped the Crimson to a 2-0 start with victories over Quinnipiac and Princeton. The Bruderheim, Alta., native stopped 19 shots over three periods in a 4-2 victory over Quinnipiac on Friday night to hand the Bobcats its first loss of the season and snap a six-game win streak. The Crimson returned to the ice on Saturday to take on ECAC and Ivy League foe, Princeton. The sophomore denied a career-high 44 shots in between the pipes for the Crimson as it shut out the Tigers, 4-0.
