CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Grace Weghorst of the Harvard women’s volleyball team has been named the Harvard COOP Athlete for the Week Oct. 15.
The Austin, Texas native paced the Harvard offense, as the Crimson downed familiar Ivy League foes Cornell and Columbia last weekend. The rookie notched her first career double-double with a career-high 14 kills and 11 digs to help Harvard past Cornell, 3-1. She added an ace and 16 points to secure the win and snap a two-game losing streak. Weghorst contributed nine kills and five digs as the Crimson defeated Columbia in straight sets Sunday. Harvard (8-6, 3-2 Ivy) improves to 6-1 at home and sits in second place in the league.
The Crimson will hit the road to take on Penn Saturday, Oct. 18 before traveling to Princeton Sunday.
