CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Paul Stanton of the Harvard football team has been named the Harvard COOP Athlete of the Week for Oct. 5.

The Kenner, La., native finished with 21 carries for 103 yards, two rushing touchdowns and 55 yards receiving as Harvard defeated in-state rival Holy Cross, 41-35, in triple overtime. Stanton tallied his first score of the game in the first overtime when the sophomore rushed for one yard to put Harvard back on top, 35-28. On the game-winning possession, the running back broke through a hole and ran for 17 yards for the score. Stanton was the recipient of the John Turco Memorial Trophy, presented annually to the most outstanding player in the Holy Cross homecoming game. The Crimson (3-0, 1-0 Ivy) remains undefeated on the season.

The Crimson stays on the road and will face Cornell Saturday, Oct. 12.
