CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Freshman women’s tennis player Amy He has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for April 22.
He earned the clinching victory in Harvard’s 5-2 victory over No. 35 Yale this past weekend. The freshman rallied multiple times in her match at second singles against Madeleine Hamilton. After dropping the first set, 6-4, she prevailed, 6-1, to force a decisive third. In the final set, He found herself trailing 5-4 and 6-5, but she managed to win the ensuing game both times to continue the match and force a tiebreak. Hamilton had two match points during the tiebreak; however, He won three straight points to win the third set 7-6(7) and give the Crimson its first win against the Bulldogs in three meetings.
On the season, He is 11-3 in dual action and 15-8 overall. She has compiled an 8-3 record at the second position to help the Crimson to an 11-6 mark with two matches remaining.
