Rachel Brown, Softball

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Rachel Brown of the Harvard softball team has been named the Harvard COOP Athlete of the Week for May 21. The senior pitched the Crimson to the NCAA Regional Final with wins over Maryland, 3-2 (8), and Texas Tech, 2-0, May 19. At the Seattle Regional, Brown threw four complete games, allowed 21 hits and seven earned runs, while striking out 20 batters. Harvard ended the season with a 4-0 loss to regional host and No. 16 Washington in the final, and finished with a 35-15 overall mark, collecting the second-most wins in a season in program history and first-ever birth in the NCAA Regional  Final. Brown completed her final year in Cambridge with a 21-7 record in the circle.
