CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Josue Ortiz of the Harvard football team has been named the Harvard COOP Athlete of the Week for Oct. 14. Ortiz, one of 21 seniors honored at their last home game, helped the Crimson clinch the outright Ivy League title with a win over Penn, 37-20 Saturday. The Avon Park, Fla., native led the defensive effort with 10 tackles, including 3.5 for loss and two sacks, while also forcing and recovering a fumble. With Harvard trailing 7-0 in the second quarter, Ortiz swung the momentum to the Crimson side by forcing and recovering a fumble at the Penn 24-yard line. He recorded a sack on the Quakers' first drive and ended their second with another sack, his league-leading ninth of the season. Harvard finishes the season at rival Yale Nov. 19 at noon.
