CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Peyton Johnson, a sophomore on the Harvard women’s soccer team, has been named the Harvard COOP Athlete of the Week for Oct. 2. In the 93rd minute, Johnson drilled a penalty kick to give the Crimson a 2-1 sudden victory over arch rival Yale Oct. 1. The Catonsville, Md., native earned the penalty kick opportunity after her advance of the ball through the box struck the hand of a Yale defender. The game winner was Johnson’s second goal of 2011 and gives her seven points through 10 games. Harvard moved to 2-0 in Ivy League play and 6-4 overall.
